Team UTTARAN (Social Service Club of Dept. of Electrical Engineering, IEM, Kolkata) has visited Bidhannagar Sub-divisional Hospital, DD-36, sec-1, Saltlake, Kolkata-700091, yesterday, on 11 th April to distribute 70 (approx.) baskets of fruits and sweets to the patients admitted there to wish their speedy recovery as well as to wish them SUBHO NOBOBORSHO 1429. 19 Students of the Dept. of Electrical Engineering along with 4 teachers started their journey by College Bus at 12.40 pm towards the venue, maintaining all the Covid Protocols. The treats were distributed by the students as per the direction of the Superintendent of the Hospital. Approximately 70 baskets were handed over to the patients of Male ward, Female ward and the Maternity ward. The students greeted the patients and they blessed them a lot. As a whole it was indeed a great experience to all of us.

Industrial Visit at Variable Cyclotron Center organised by IEM ECE department under IEM IEEE CAS Students baranch Chapter on 20.04.2022. fifty students from 2nd & 3rd year have participated in this visit. faculty Co-coordinator was prof. Dr. G.S Taki,Prof. Mili Sarkar and Samit Karmakar.

Institute of Engineering & Management in association with AP-MTT Kolkata Chapter organized an interactive technical session on Microwave Technology on 29th April 2022 in Science Auditorium, IEM Kolkata. The key Speaker of the event was Dr. Gautam  Chattopadhyay  who is a Senior Scientist of  NASA –JPL, Dr. Shiban Koul, an Emeritus Professor of  IIT Delhi and  Dr. Chinmoy Saha who is also an Assistant Professor of Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. The session started at 10.00 A.M. and it continued for 12.30 P.M.Prof. Dr. Sanghamitra Poddar started the session by introducing the  speakers  to the students & faculty members. In this session Dr. Chattopadhyay delivered  a technical talk on ‘’Mars landing and relative technical Challenges ‘’.Prof. Dr. Shiban koul gave a special speech on “ Radio frequency MEMS”. At the end of the session Dr. Gautam Chattopadhyay announced the details  about IEEE membership for MTS Kolkata chapter. All faculty members of ECE and all 2nd year, 3rd year students of IEM ECE department, were presented in this event to make it a grand success. All of them enjoyed the session very much.

Project Description: Automated Water Pumping System using ultrasonic sensors and Arduino UNO Project Utility: Reduces human labor by sensing the decreased water level in the tank and automatically activating and deactivating the pump at the required time. Project Description: Attendance in University is generally paper based which may sometimes cause errors. Taking attendance manually consumes more time. So, in this project we have designed an RFID-based Attendance Management System using Arduino and EM-18 Reader Module. An RFID based Attendance Management System is based on some simple concepts. We store a set of RFID card data in our system, say 10-20 RFID card data. When the person with the right RFID card (compatible to data preloaded in our program/system) comes and swipes his RFID card, his arrival time will be stored on the system. When the same person swipes his RFID card again, the system will save it as his departure time and add it to his total working hours. Project Description: An AR based gesture controller for racing games that recognizes user's actions as a real driver in games' using virtual steering wheel.  Project Utility: This project can create the thrill of driving in virtual world without even touching the keyboard.
