Arjab Sengupta, Undergraduate Researcher (Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, IEM Kolkata), has been awarded the $3,000 USD IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Undergraduate Summer Research Scholarship (USRS) 2026, selected among only 30 undergraduates worldwide across IEEE Regions 1–10. This highly competitive recognition highlights exceptional promise in antennas, propagation, and electromagnetics research. Heartfelt congratulations to Arjab! The Alumni Innovators & Entrepreneurs Conclave was successfully organized on 29th August from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the IEM Alumni Centre, Godrej, Genesis 10th Floor, Sector V. The event served as a vibrant platform for interaction, networking, and knowledge exchange among innovators, entrepreneurs, and the extended IEM family. The program featured networking sessions, musical jamming, and high tea, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and camaraderie. A total of 58 students actively participated, engaging with experts to gain insights into entrepreneurship, innovation, and career development. In addition, 15 entrepreneurs joined the conclave, sharing their professional journeys, startup experiences, industry perspectives, and guidance for future aspirations. The event created meaningful bridges between current students and entrepreneurs, inspiring the younger generation to pursue innovative ideas and entrepreneurial ventures with confidence. It also reinforced the strong and ever-growing IEM network, dedicated to mentorship, professional collaboration, and lifelong learning.

Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of IEM in collaboration with IEM IEEE Student Branch and Student Branch Chapters is organizing SYTRON 2025 during 30th and 31st August. It is a Technical Extravaganza which comprises of IOT and Verilog Workshops, Robotic Competitions, Model exhibition and competition, Poster presentation, Technical quiz, Tech Talks, GEN-AI based App challenge Competition, Coding Competition and a few Gaming events. The 4th International Conference on Industrial Engineering & Mechanical Power (IEMPOWER 2025) was successfully organized by IEM Kolkata in hybrid mode, in collaboration with ASHRAE & SmartSociety USA. The paper submission deadline was extended to May 20, 2025, offering researchers a chance to publish in Springer Book Series or AIP Proceedings (Scopus Indexed). Key tracks covered included Smart Manufacturing, Energy Transition, AI in Mechanical Systems, and Predictive Maintenance. Renowned speakers like Prof. Len Gelman, Prof. Mustafizur Rahman, and Prof. D.K. Prathar delivered keynotes. The conference took place from July 18–20, 2025, with acceptance notifications sent by June 20 and registration closing on June 30. We were thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of IEM CREATE-A-THON 2025 on 25th April. The event witnessed numerous innovative projects and the enthusiastic participation of over 100 students and teachers. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the participants, mentors, judges, volunteers, and the organizing team whose collective efforts made this event a grand success. Special gratitude went to Director Sir and Principal Sir for their unwavering guidance and support throughout. Uttiyo Hari, a student of the ECE 2019 batch, has been selected as a Probationary Officer/Management Trainee. He will be joining the prestigious Central Bank of India.
