On August 23rd, 2024, the Department of Basic Science and Humanities at IEM Salt Lake, in collaboration with the Literary Society of IEM, hosted Ink and Echo, a celebration of student creativity. The event was jointly organized by the Lion's Club of Kolkata IEM, Inner Wheel Club IEM, and Rotary Club of Salt Lake Silicon Valley. Ink and Echo featured four segments: Poetry Writing, Article Writing, Story Writing, and Extempore Speaking. Students displayed their talents through thought-provoking poetry, insightful essays on social issues, imaginative stories, and eloquent speeches.

The IEM Ashram Cup Football season 7 took place at The Stadel Sports Arena (VYBK gate no. 3) on 25th August 2024. Eight teams participated in the men's tournament, which was divided into two groups, while two women's teams competed in a separate bracket. The tournament progressed with a total of 12 group stage matches, showcasing intense competition and skilled play from all participants.

A 5-Day Faculty Development Program on "Exploring IoT & AI Frontier in Teaching and Research" (Hybrid Mode) was organized by the Department of CSE (IoT), Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata, in association with HRDC, IEM-UEM Group, IEM IQAC, and the IEM-IETE Students' Forum. The program took place from September 2 to September 6, 2024.

WAR OF WORDS 2.0, the highly anticipated debate competition, was organized by Words of Life, the social and literary club of the BCA department. The event provided students with the opportunity to unleash their creative thinking, process information, solve problems, and demonstrate interpersonal skills through a series of debates on various geopolitical, social, and technical topics. The competition, hosted by the Department of Computer Application and Science, took place from August 6 to August 23, 2024.

The Department of Basic Science & Humanities, IEM-Salt Lake Campus, and the IEM Institute of Fundamental Research (IIFR) jointly displayed a wall magazine designed by Section E students on the topic "From Earth to the Stars: The Journey of ISRO" to celebrate National Space Day 2024 on August 23, 2024.

Smart Power Talk: Get inspired by motivational speeches from industry leaders. Maker's Meet: Network with fellow makers, share ideas, and collaborate on future projects. Maker's Award: Celebrate the best of the best as we honor top innovators with the prestigious Maker's Award.

On August 24, 2024, the Center of Excellence (CoE) for Climate Change Research, associated with the Prem Jain Memorial Trust (PJMT), took a significant step towards emphasizing the importance of nature as humankind's greatest ally. They regard nature as the visible representation of the invisible God, one that should be worshipped and preserved. Their mission is to create, establish, and maintain a sustainability paradigm through education, recognition, and nurturing of both present and future generations. This initiative was presented at the CII Auditorium, IEM Management House.

On August 22, 2024, Dr. Saumya S. Basu, a renowned Technology Specialist, delivered a session on Generative AI. Before migrating to the UK, he had been associated with PwC and IBM. For the past six years, he had been based in Sheffield, UK, where he took a keen interest in Industry-Academia Collaboration. The session was attended by students of the second-year MBA program.

The Department of BBA at IEM Ashram Campus, Kolkata, successfully conducted a career counselling session with the final-year BBA students on August 22, 2024. The interactive session provided a platform for students to ask questions and seek clarification on their career choices, empowering them to make informed decisions as they step into the professional world.
