Heartfulness essay event 2019 - prize distribution for Kolkata ,Howrah and 24 parganas zone. It is a greetings from Shri Ram Chandra Mission(SRCM) which is all about the enthusiastic participants and excellent performance in the Heartfullness Essay Event 2019 which is organised this year by the mission in collaboration with the United Nation Information Centre in India and Bhutan(UNIC) and the Heartfulness Education Trust . The prize distribution ceremony for the Heartfulness Essay Event 2019 for Kolkata, Howrah and 24 parganas zone at 2:30 pm on 23 rd January 2020( Thursday) at Heartfulness Meditation Centre ,C/o Babuji Memorial Ashram behind ruby hospital (entry gate through gate no.1 heritage school) Kolkata-700107. Three students from BBA (Ashram Campus)NAMRATA KANUNGO,PAYAL GHOSH ,NILESH NANDY received the merit certificate on the basis of the topic category 2 " The honorable chief guests werewere- The governor- Jagdeep dhankhar and his wife Smt Sudesh dhankhar , Director of UCO Bank and the head of heartfulness organisation attended the ceremony. IEM researchers - Aditya Mukherjee & Subham Kundu under the guidance of Prof. Kaushik Patra, Prof. Rintu Kumar Gayen and Prof. Malay Gangopadhyay designed, fabricated and delivered a RF product to industry which is a keyless car lock and security system. The product features a low loss high isolation 6 way wideband RF switch which is capable of switching between 6 wifi/bluetooth antennas very fast. This has countless applications outside the smart car industry, like radar, antenna array, Software defined radio array/farm, etc.

Our brilliant IEM students at WBUT International Bengali conference, showcasing their SMART home solution with an app controlled power strip. Smart Spike Busters is an IoT controlled Device where we can control our home electric appliances through a Mobile Application from anywhere in the world. Application in Real Life of the Project: 1. We Can Switch On our Air Conditioner, Geyser before entering our house. 2. Even if we forget to switch off the appliances of our house, we can control it from our office. Thus, we can save electricity. 3. We will be alert if we see some suspicious "Switched On" appliances in our house. Previous year Refcold prize winner team Samarpan and Sagnik, ME Dept., Final year student of Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata with project name EDICOAT achieved another award along with getting MOU signed with WBEIDC and Bengal Chamber of commerce. On 22nd January 2020, BCA Department of Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata organized a Workshop on IOT HACKING in association with Indian School of Ethical Hacking for BCA First year students. On Saturday, 4th January, a workshop on Group Discussion was held by Young Indians in association with British Council. There were about 10 students from IEM, who attended this workshop. Students were given a brief insight into the art of Group Discussion followed by the practice session. Students were taught about the maximum duration for which one should speak, How to Present their point in a group discussion, How to interrupt, How to Agree/disagree to someone's point, etc It was a great Educational session all together and IEM is immensely thankful to YI and the British Council for the opportunity. YI arranged an Industry Visit for BCA 2nd year students of Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata at RTS power corporation on 21st January 2020.They were welcomed warmly at the plant and their manager Mr. Mukherjee took the students for the plant tour and explained the entire production process to the students. The students enjoyed the experience and got a vivid idea about the business. Society of Physics Students Chapter, IEM is a student chapter of Society of Physics Student, an association of American Institute of Physics. The faculty advisors of this chapter are Dr. Koyel Ganguly and Arnab Basu. About 80 students and 12 faculties of IEM are members of this chapter. Society of Physics Students, American Institute of Physics has recognized Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) as an Outstanding Chapter for year 2018- 2019, SPS Chapter.
