His projects have dealt with decision trees, genetic algorithms, neural networks and reinforcement learning, quite often combining those techniques. Applied research with these techniques has also dealt with the development of educational intelligence as well as strategy games. I am also especially keen in investigating how research results can be translated into meaningful learning material and he also enjoy experimenting with software infrastructures for networked communities.   He also worked as a technical director for a software company.   He has been also involved in most of the efforts to pilot-test collaborative technologies (such as virtual classrooms and portals) and then deploy them at a large scale at the HOU; he is also deeply interested in educational technology. Other interesting occupations involve:   Member of the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society (having also served as Chair and Secretary General), Member of the Organising Committee of the 18th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (Patras, 2008) and of the 24th IEEE International Conference on Tools with Artificial Intelligence (Piraeus, 2012), and co-Chair of the 8th Panhellenic Conference on Artificial Intelligence (Ioannina, 2014), Evaluation expert for various organisations (including the European Commission, the Corallia Clusters Initiative, various agencies of the Greek State, other national/regional agencies in Europe, etc.)   After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. *All participants will receive a participation certificate after the webinar.*

Glimpse of IEM-IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center)
Glimpse of IEM-IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center)
#IEM has long been well known for pioneering path breaking innovations in the technical and entrepreneurial fields. Allow us to break some myths and clear the fog surrounding our organization, and clarify what exactly is #IEM-IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center), and how it can be your next step towards achieving your dream.   IEM-IEDC is a community of like minded peers who strive to build technical and non technical innovations in emerging fields, and stretch the boundaries of existing technology to benefit society. True to our name, we focus on innovation and entrepreneurship development. Funded by DST (Department of Science and Technology, Government of India), we develop multi-disciplinary projects as well as release patents and papers. We do what we care about and are really passionate about what we do.   What does this mean to you, as an undergraduate? Educational resources, powerful computing machines, high speed network, infrastructure upholding the highest industrial standards, and hardware equipment which you'll not find in most places. Apart from resources, we help you figure out ways you can bring your dream projects to life. DST and Institute itself provides funding for projects, if necessary, and also helps with the patent filing. Our wide network of alumni is something we are immensely proud of. They are majorly based in some of the top Research and Development Labs across the world, and actively reach out to our current members, to offer any help or connections they might require. We provide ample research and product development opportunities for our students, and having our very own research lab within #IEM allows our students to gain an edge. We also have outreach programs among the industrial giants, which include yearly industrial visits to the TCS Innovation Lab, annual talks in CII sessions and PwC led mentoring sessions.   Achievements of the past few years: ● 10+ patents under our belt ● 22 scopus indexed and 30+ other publications ● 18 ongoing projects and 55+ completed projects ● IEDC projects have led IEM to win first prize at the MAKAUT Conclave consistently for several years ● Multiple GSoC (Google Summer of Code) interns ● Smart EVM and Women Safety Gloves, covered by several national media outlets ● CII panel members in recent years ● PwC led mentoring sessions ● Youngest Redhat certified cyber security enthusiast ● A data analyst with one time DIANA-HEP and two time IRIS-HEP fellowships   We plan to bring you all of these amazing projects with information on the people behind the concept, and their profiles and achievements, on our page, and let you get a peek at how we function. Gear up and we'll keep you posted!   #innovation #incubation #innovative #product #entrepreneurship #IEM   Article Courtesy: Prof. Avijit Bose, IEM, Kolkata [gallery ids="7257,7258,7259,7260,7261,7262,7263,7264"]

Story of an Young ENTREPRENEUR Series
Story of an Young ENTREPRENEUR Series
#Story of an Young #ENTREPRENEUR Series- #Story 1:   Sohang Sengupta, student of Computer Science #IEM, the Founder of ZeroDollarSecurity Community and Designated Partner and CEO for Cybertix Technologies LLP, has always harboured an acute passion for Cyber Security, ever since the beginning of his +2. His knowledge in Cyber Security and the prestigious selection at the KWHS Top 30 Young Leader, University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business helped him bag his first internship, even before starting college, with one of the NIFTY 50 companies of India. This exposure taught him how to harness the power of cybersecurity as a business enabler and value creator. He then went on to become the youngest member of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC), #IEM, funded by DST, Govt of India, in his first year. The next year, he founded the first Cyber Security Cell under IEM-IEDC, and nabbed his second internship with RSA Security, DELL-EMC. He came back armed with a comprehensive knowledge of product development, testing and value chain of software products, and started ZeroDollarSecurity, India’s first crowd-sourced and crowd-skilled cybersecurity company.   ZeroDollarSecurity aspires to arm all enterprises, especially small and macro ones, with reasonable security features, and better the community as a whole by educating, mentoring and providing resources to students, free of cost, as their name suggests. Creating a value ecosystem where they work on real time, real life problems pertaining to the industry, while helping out small businesses, is one of Sohang's main goals.   Institutionalisation of the Triple Helix Model has always been one of his other goals. This startup's whole mode of operations is online, with a few offline student chapters at acclaimed institutions like NIT Durgapur, Jadavpur University, and IEM. All of the colleges and institutions under their umbrella use their resources and handbooks, which have been verified by industry members so as to have a holistic development. ZeroDollarSecurity has already mentored and trained more than 500 students, and quite a few employees from reputed IT giants in India. All ZeroDollarSecurity community members then utilise this model to educate and convert more people to this noble cause. They have established chapters at Tamil Nadu and Telangana, with new ones opening in Delhi and Pune.   He got selected by MIT( Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Bootcamp for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for this startup, and it has been nominated by CIO Insider India as the Top 10 Indian CyberSecurity Service provider, which will feature in late July, 2020. He was also appointed as the Chief CyberSecurity Mentor at the Centre of Excellence, ZeroDollarSecurity at Jadavpur University.   His goal is to sustain this model of commodizing niche technologies to benefit society as a whole, and work towards the betterment of student resources and opportunities. But the question he gets asked most frequently is how does he sustain a model which has entirely free educational resources and has no discernable profit to the outsider's eye? In the words of Sohang himself, "I use a three pronged approach, namely, cross learning, train the trainer, and the utilisation of the vast talent pool of this community as a parent company (Cybertix Technologies LLP) resource. Our members learn from each other, and from our resources, making it a completely crowd skilled initiative, and all of them take an oath to teach at least 5 others about the cybersecurity domain, thus spreading our outreach even further. A part of profit earned by Cybertix Technologies is channeled into ZeroDollarSecurity, which allows more free growth of the niche innovative products we aspire to develop. In return, Cybertix can put this brilliant young skill pool to use." I feel really fortunate to be the witness of their dynamic journey with tremendous hard work and dedication.   #innovation #entrepreneurship #cybersecurity #startups #IEM #Teamwork   Article Courtesy: Prof. Avijit Bose, IEM, Kolkata
