*Short Biography:* David Cardwell is Professor of Superconducting Engineering and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Strategy & Planning). He was previously Head of the Engineering Department. The Bulk Superconductor research group at Cambridge, founded by Prof. Cardwell, works on the processing and applications of bulk high temperature superconductors, which can be used to generate very high magnetic fields. Professor Cardwell has been a Fellow of Fitzwilliam College since 1993. He is actively involved in the recruitment of overseas undergraduates for the sciences, and particularly from the Far East.

*Short biography* : Anna Esposito received her “Laurea Degree” summa cum laude in Information Technology and Computer Science from Salerno University in 1989 with a thesis on : The Behavior and Learning of a Deterministic Neural Net (published on Complex System, vol. 6(6), pp.507-517, 1992).
She received her Ph.D Degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer science from *Naples University, “Federico* II” in 1995. She spent two years at *Massachusetts Institute of Technology* , Research Laboratory of Electronics to develop her Ph.D thesis on: Vowel Height and Consonantal Voicing Effects: Data from Italian (published on Phonetica, vol. 59, n.4, pp.197-231, November 2002).
She has been Post-Doc at the International Institute for Advanced Scientific Studies (IIASS), Italy, and Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics at the University of Salerno (Italy), where from January 1996 to October 2000, she taught classes in Cybernetics, Neural Networks, and Speech Processing.
From November 2000 to December 2002 she got a position as Research Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Wright State University, Dayton, OH, USA to which she currently collaborate as research affiliate.
She also maintained her collaboration and affiliation with the University of Salerno, Department of Physics, the IIASS and the *Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT),* RLE, Cambridge, MA, USA.
Anna is currently Associate Professor in Computer Science at the Department of Psychology, Second University of Naples. She joined her Department on January 2003 where she teach on Cognitive and Algorithmic Issues of Multimodal Communication. She is author of more than 130 publications on international journals, books, and conference proceedings with peer review, and editor of 19 international books coming out from schools and conferences jointly organized with EU and overseas colleagues.

*Short biography* : Dr. Rabie received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester in 2015. Prior to that, he received the M.Sc. degree (with Dist.) in Communication Engineering and the B.Sc. degree (with Hons.) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester and University of Tripoli, respectively, securing first rank in both degrees. He is currently a Lecturer at the department of engineering at the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), UK. He has worked as part of several industrial projects including the Smart in-Building Micro-grid for Energy Management (£750K) and the Manchester's Smart City Demonstrator, CityVerve, (£10M).
Rabie has published 130+ papers in prestigious journals and international conferences (mostly IEEE), and serves regularly on the Technical Program Committee (TPC) of several major IEEE conferences such as GLOBECOM, ICC, VTC, etc. He is a TCP Co-Chair of IEEE ISPLC'19, Program Chair of IEEE ISPLC'18, IEEE CSNDSP'18 Co-Chair of the ''Green Communications and Networks'' track and the Publicity Chair of INISCOM'18. Khaled serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Access, an Area Editor of Physical Communication and an Executive Editor of the Emerging Telecommunications Technologies Journal. Ràbie has received numerous awards over the past few years including the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE ISPLC (TX, USA, 2015), the MMU Outstanding Knowledge Exchange Project award of 2016 and the IEEE Access Editor of the month for August 2019. Rabie is also a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

*Short biography* : Dr. Rachel Freeman is at UCL's Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources, in the Energy Systems group. Rachel works on socio-technical energy transition modelling that will support the UK's transition to a low-carbon economy.
Rachel Freeman has a BSc. in Mathematics, a MSc. in renewable energy and the environment, and a doctorate in systems engineering from the University of Bristol. Before starting her doctorate she worked as a software engineering, and then as a consultant providing technical evaluation services and research to support energy planning. Her speciality is in applying systems thinking and systems modelling methods to a range of sustainability issues - focusing on the complexity of the economic, engineering, and political/behavioural issues important to the process of decarbonisation. Dr Freeman is a member of the policy council of the UK Chapter of the System Dynamics society. Rachel's research covers a range of topics related to sustainability including waste prevention, the rebound effect, resource efficiency, energy and carbon management in buildings and transport, energy demand response, re-distributed manufacturing, smart meters, and the relationships between natural capital and the rebound effect.
