The 3rdInternational Conference on Computational Intelligence in Pattern Recognition (CIPR) will provide common platform for presentation of original research findings, exchange of ideas and dissemination of innovative, practical development experiences in different aspects and fields of data analysis and pattern recognition. After three successful versions (CIPR-2019, CIPR-2020), CIPR-2021 will enlighten the advances of 20th Century on Computational Intelligence Techniques in the field of Pattern Recognition. The conference aims at bringing together the researchers, scientists, engineers, industrial professionals and scholar students in their domain of interest. Also, it concentrates on both theory and practices from around the world in all the areas of related disciplines of Pattern Recognition. Other than the main allied domain of pattern recognition, this conference aims to provide rapid dissemination of important results in soft computing, data mining problems, rough set and fuzzy set theory, evolutionary computations, neural science and neural network systems, image processing, combinatorial pattern matching, social network analysis, audio and video data analysis, data mining in dynamic environment, bioinformatics, hybrid computing, big data analytics, internet of things, deep learning etc. It promotes novel and high quality research findings, innovative solutions to challenging Engineering problems; the conference seeks to continuously advance the state-of-the-art in recent developments as well as the other promising areas of advance computing. Original and unpublished research papers from all disciplines including theory, practice, experimentation, and review work highlighting specific research domains for presentation in the technical sessions of the conference will be invited from researchers, academicians and professionals throughout the globe.

  3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN DATA MINING AND INFORMATION SECURITY (IEMIS 2020) which will be held at Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata, West Bengal. India on 23-25th February, 2022 will be organized by the School of Information Technology (Ashram Campus), a unit of Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata. Physical Education is an integral part of the total education system. Games and Sports play a vital role in the student’s life. A student should study hard to be successful in competitive examinations. But, he should also play games and sports to enjoy the health and vigor of life. Considering the concept of “SPORTS FOR ALL” throughout the entire session we organized Inter-department tournaments for students as well as some sports activities for staff (teaching and non-teaching). The much awaited  IEM-UEM Annual Sports Day was held on Friday 2nd February 2020, with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The programme began with the honorable Chancellor Sri. Satyajit Chakrabarti, honorable  Vice-chancellor of UEMK  Sri. Sajal Dasgupta and honourable Mrs. Banani Chakrabarty welcoming the esteemed gathering and emphasized on the importance of sports in a student's life. The honorable Chancellor Sri. Satyajit Chakrabarti, honorable  Vice-chancellor of UEMK  Sri. Sajal Dasgupta and honorable Mrs. Banani Chakrabarty also took the salute of the impressive March Past of the students, coupled with some stirring marching music by the band. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Sports club president Mudasar Nusar. An energizing equestrian display set the tone for the rest of the event. The students displayed a  welcome dance, pyramid formation display mesmerizing the audience with their energetic performances. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. Students of various classes across all the years and all stream Boys and Girls competed in events including sprints(50m, 100m, 200m, 400), relays(4x50m,4x100m), faculty race, long jump. Fun time with a tug- of- war between the alumni member and current students added to the enjoyment. At the end of the programme, the winners were awarded different attractive prizes. honourable Chancellor Sri. Satyajit Chakrabarti, who was the chief guest of the function, distributed the prizes among the winners. The Best march past trophy was awarded to the IEM Kolkata and the overall champion trophy was awarded to the UEM Kolkata. The honorable  Vice-chancellor of UEMK  Sri. Sajal Dasgupta thanked all for their participation in the annual sports ceremony and declared the end of the ceremony at 5 pm. All students, teachers, guardians, and invited guests enjoyed the sports-meet.

Cycle sport is competitive physical activity using bicycles. Bicycle racing is recognized as an Olympic sport. Bicycle races are popular all over the world, especially in Europe. The countries most devoted to bicycle racing include Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland. Other countries with international standing include Australia, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, United States and Colombia. This year's UEM-IEM CYCLOTHON 2020 , with the theme of "Ride for women's safety" 8th of March 2020. International Women's Day supporting a greater cause. We witnessed a huge success last year and yes we are back with second edition of UEM-IEM CYCLOTHON 2020 , with the theme "RIDE FOR WOMEN'S RIGHT"

“The marathon is an opportunity for redemption. Opportunity, because the outcome is uncertain. Opportunity, because it is up to you, and only you, to make it happen." By Dean Karnazes. IEM UEM did not miss any opportunity. Like every year this year IEM UEM Group has organized a MARATHON Program for all. Participant from all over the India came & participated in this program. The unique feature of the run was that it was managed by the students of IEM (Institute of Engineering & Management) and UEM (University of Engineering & Management).  Two-hundred-and-thirty-seven students were part of the management of this event. Nearly 1,900 people, including over 560 women, took part in this event. The usually-quiet road in front of Godrej Waterside in Sector V was buzzing with enthusiasm at 5.30am on Sunday. Men and women, young and old, waited for the 4th IEM UEM Kolkata Marathon 2020, in association with The Telegraph, to be flagged off. The 21km run, the longest of the five categories in Sunday’s run, was the first to be flagged off. The other categories were 10km, 10 miles (around 16km), 5km and 3km. Priya Handa, a student of IEM participated in 10 miles run. After finishing her run she told  “I was not into running earlier. But since I started two years ago, I am enjoying it. It is a refreshing exercise,” Diganta Kumar Singh a runner from Rourkela participated in this event. The passion on the runners’ faces was what made the organizers happy. ''This year we are also sending out a message for water conservation through this run,” said Satyajit Chakrabarti, the chancellor of UEM. There were medals for all participants for finishing the run. The toppers in each category was awarded of of Rs 1.6 lakh.

On behalf of International Women’s Day 2022, Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata organized a small celebration gathering for all the faculty members of CSE department on 08.03.2022 in the Central lab of CSE department. All faculty members arranged for a hearty treat to recognize the importance of the day.
