IEMCON 2022
Continuing from the outstanding success of IEEE IEMCON 2021, we are very proud to present IEEE IEMCON 2022 which will provide an opportunity for researchers, educators, and students to discuss and exchange ideas on issues, trends, and developments in Information Technology, Electronics, and Mobile Communication. The conference aims to bring together scholars from different backgrounds to emphasize the dissemination of ongoing research in the fields of Computing, Electronics, and Mobile Communication. Research papers are invited describing original work in the above- mentioned fields and related technologies. The conference will include a peer-reviewed program of technical sessions. All accepted papers will be presented virtually during the parallel sessions of the conference and the accepted, presented papers will be submitted for publication at IEEE Xplore® digital library (Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar). This time also the 13 th Annual Information Technology, Electronics, and Mobile Communication Conference (IEMCON) were held in Virtual Mode. On 12 th October 2022 the inauguration session started at 9.00 P.M. Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President of IEM Kolkata, inaugurated the session by giving his valuable speech. After that Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Director of IEM Kolkata, delivered his speech. Next session was keynote session where Prof. Dr. Konstantin Novoselov delivered speech on Physics -inspired learning on Graphs. The conference was conducted for 4 days. Authors from all over the world have submitted their papers to this conference and also presented their papers. On 15th  October, in the valedictory session, the committee awarded the presenters. Android Jetpack Compose Camp 2022
The Android Jetpack Compose Camp session of Google Developers Student Club - Institute of Engineering and Management for the session 2022-23 was conducted on the 16th, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th of September 2022. The session was hosted online for the first 5 days and then the last was hosted offline. Over 50+ participants were present from almost all the departments. In this Compose Camp, we developed industry-level projects using MVVM Clean Architecture and the Jetpack Compose library, in Kotlin. The faculty coordinator was Prof. Sumanta Chakraborty. The session was conducted by Shagil Islam, App Dev Lead of GDSC-IEM (BTech 3rd year) and the speakers were Deya Hazra and Rohit Kumar. Intro to Android Framework 2. Intro to AndroidStudio IDE 3. Overview of an Android Studio project (AndroidManifest.xml, build.gradle, activity_main.xml, MainActivity.kt) 4. How to create layouts in XML 5. How to handle events 6. Understanding them through a project Day 2 Topics covered: 1. Intro to Jetpack compose 2. What r composable functions 3. Preview function in compose 4. Implementation of collapsible/expandible image card in compose Day 3 Topics covered: 1. Intro to Android design patterns and architectures 2. Intro to MVVM architecture 3. Intro to Clean architecture 4. Setup of the final NewsApp project using Clean Architecture Day 4 Topics covered: 1. Intro to the newsapi for the project 2. JSON parsing 3. Retrofit network call and JSON parsing using GSON library 4. Intro to Dagger-Hilt and Dependency injection in the project Day 5 Topics covered: 1. Building Domain layer 2. Implementation of repository and making our first network call 3. Introduction to data Models and @SerializedNames 4. Making the Jetpack Compose UI for Article item Day 6 Topics covered: 1. Synchronous vs Asynchronous programming (Introduction to Threads) 2. Kotlin coroutines 3. Designing the recycler view using a lazy column 4.
