On 28th January 2023, the IEM BBA department organized an industrial tour to Jaya Shree Textiles in  Rishra. Students from the BBA department participated in this industrial tour.

PRATYAGRA, the Entrepreneurship Club of the BBA Department has organized a LOGO Making Competition for the students. The main aim of this competition is to give the students exposure to a real-world situation. Along with the respected Prof. Dr. Mohuya Chakraborty , Prof. Dr. Rabin Majumder and all faculty members from the BBA department were present to encourage the students.

IEM-IETE Students' Forum conducting a quiz contest in front of the IEM Pavilion. Prof. Dr. Moutushi Biswas Singh and Prof. Dr. Sosovan Jana along with students conducted the quiz and many visitors participated in this event and won the prize.

On 07.02.2023 CSE and CSE(AI) departments organized a CSR activity at Kolkata book fair 2023 at the IEM UEM stall under the IEM-CSE-CSI Student chapter and IEM-ACM Student chapter. Mask and sanitizers are distributed amongst visitors. The event was a great success.

Like every year this year also IEM-UEM group organized the IEM UEM Kolkata Marathon 2023.on 29th January 2023 Marathon started from IEM Management Campus. Prof Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President of the IEM UEM group inaugurated the marathon program by hosting the flag at 5.30 pm. participants from all over India came and join this Marathon. There were three categories: 5km 10km and 21 km. 300 volunteers who are students of IEM worked hard, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sanghamitra Poddar  ,to make this event a grand success. The Winner was awarded Medal and a cash prize at the end.

The Annual Cultural Programme of IEM was held on the college premises on the 21st and 22nd of January 2023. Presided over by the Principal of the college, the function was attended by faculty members from different departments. Distinguished guests and the students of the college also attended the inaugural function. The events of the day-long programme included music, recitation, dance, and story-telling. Everybody enjoyed the cultural function and highly appreciated the organizers.

A Faculty Development Programme on “Outcome Based Education and NBA Accreditation” has been organized by department of ME, Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata, India from 2nd to 6th January 2023. Inauguration Session was started with welcome speech of Principal, IEM Prof. (Dr.) Arun Kumar Bar. Prof. Dr. B K Das Director, IQAC, IIMT University, Meerut given brief lecture on National Board of Accreditation (NBA) preparation, documentation and presentation before peer team visit. Prof. Dr. Rana Saha, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department, Jadavpur University delivered lecture on understanding outcome based education (OBE)  system from the perspective of NBA accreditation. Prof. Dr. Swarnendu Sen, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department, Jadavpur University delivered lecture on OBE Implementation: Role of The Teacher. Prof. Ajay Tripathi, Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Government Engineering College, Raipur delivered lecture on How to face NBA Inspection and present documents. Prof. Dr. Naresh Rakha, advisor to IIT Ropar delivered lecture on Effective Teaching Methods and Passion as Envisaged in NEP. Professor Dr. Janardhanan Gangathulasi, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the NITTTR, Chennai delivered lecture on Outcome based Education in NBA accreditation. More than 100 no’s of faculty members from different organizations have participated across the nation in the FDP.

On 17th January2023, Alumni Talk series was conducted by 2013 pass-out alumni-Dr. Procheta Sen. Dr.Sen is currently working as a Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of Liverpool (UOL), United Kingdom. Before joining UOL, she completed her postdoctoral researcher in the Web Intelligence Group at University College London (UCL). Dr. Sen completed her PhD. in 2021 from Dublin City University, Ireland. She was affiliated with ADAPT centre Ireland during her PhD. Dr Sen’s area of interest includes - Information Retrieval (IR), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML). Shee started the talk with basics of Machine learning. Then, she talked briefly about her research interest and her current research area. She briefly explained her doctoral work. She also shared tips and tricks for good research and how to start research work. Dr. Sen also interacted with students and also shared her journey of becoming professor in University of Liverpool.  

The air in sucked into the air chamber where the gas sensors detect the parameters of the atmospheric air. The parameters are displayed on the Blynk-IOT app with the help of the data streams. The air is then filtered and then again, an MQ135 sensor measures its quality. The air is then sucked out of the air chamber. The voltmeter measures the voltage at all times so as to monitor the voltage. Thus, is to ensure that the voltage does not surpass the limit upto which the components can work efficiently.
