TAAPMAAN HVAC chill event propel ISHRAE student members to win global 1st runner up award by surpassing IITG at Refcold 2019 global poster competition organised by ISHRAE at Hyderabad. Out of total 450+ poster, ISHRAE selected top 10 poster for final display and two poster was selected from IEM in top 10 innovative poster. IEMPHYS - 19 is the 1st International Conference on Condensed Matter Physics organised by Department of Basic Science and Humanities, Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata in collaboration with IEM - Society of Physics Student Chapter (AIP). IEMPHYS-19 features the most updated research in the arena of condensed matter physics. The scientific program covers new and important advances across many different yet cohesive areas within condensed matter physics and related fields of research. IEMPHYS-19 includes plenary, keynote and invited lectures given by outstanding scientists in the field of condensed matter physics. There were eminent invited speakers from USA, Philippines and reputed institutions in India like IIT - BHU, Goa, Mumbai, IOP Bhubaneswar, BARC, TIFR, SINP, JU to name a few. There were participants from renowned institutions all over India and abroad in this conference. 70 papers were presented in parallel oral and poster sessions. Selected papers in this conference will be published in International Journal of Innovative Research in Physics. The Chair of this Conference is Prof. Prabir Kumar Das. ICCAES 2019 was held in Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) from 19-21st September 2019 featuring most up to date research in the arena of chemical sciences. This conference brought together innovative researchers, academicians and industrial experts under the common umbrella to encourage intellectual collaboration and networking. The conference aspired to exhibit the advancements in different areas including environmental and green chemistry, spectroscopy & synthetic organic chemistry, material science and nanotechnology, energy science and technology, semiconductor and sensors and other niche areas. A workshop was also organised on “Water crisis management and water sustainability” on the last day of conference which definitely focused on the burning issues of global water crisis. There were eminent invited speakers from Japan, Italy, Canada and from leading institutes and Universities of India who became a part of this event. A large number of abstracts were received from renowned Indian and foreign institutes. The ASME IEM Student Chapter has started its own Weekly Quiz competition and the highest scorer of the entire month is awarded with the first prize. The quiz competition is held every Friday and the topics for the quiz are notified to the participants prior to the commencement of the quiz. The quiz is basically an online Whatsapp quiz and the scores are updated after thorough evaluation.

ASME E-FEST ASIA PACIFIC VIT, VELLORE was organized between 1st-3rd February, 2019 at VIT Vellore. Students from our Chapter participated in various events.

ASME IEM Student chapter organized MAD-CAD event on 18th January, 2019 in association with IEM Innovacion. The contest was basically to design a weapon and the weapon had to be unique in its own ways.

IEM-IEDC was invited by IISF( India International Science Festival), The biggest international science festival of the world by Govt. of India at Science city to conduct a special event with all big schools around Kolkata and Bengal. Schools like South Point, St. James, All Kedriya Vidyalayas, Saltlake CA, NewTown schools, Apeejay School, all branches of DPS, St. Xaviers, Calcutta Boys, St. Paul’s, Aditya Academy,Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, Hariyana Vidya Mandir and many more Demonstrations and workshop was taken for more than 3000 school students during those three days.
