IDE Bootcamp organized by AICTE, MoE's Innovation Cell
We would like to inform you that we attended the IDE Bootcamp organized by AICTE, MoE's Innovation Cell, MoE, Govt. of India at IIM Sambalpur from 23rd September 2024 to 27th September 2024 with our students, who presented innovative startup ideas. The ideas shortlisted during this camp were also part of our Grant-In-Aid Projects. The Bootcamp provided an excellent platform for our students to learn about Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship, as well as to showcase their innovative ideas. Distinguished lecture on “Publishing in Nature Portfolio Journals”
On 26th September 2024, the Department of Electrical Engineering at IEM Salt Lake Campus organized a distinguished lecture on “Publishing in Nature Portfolio Journals.” The session, which took place at 4:00 PM IST, was delivered by Anastasiia Vasylchenkova, Associate Editor of Communications Engineering at Springer Nature.
During the insightful session, Ms. Vasylchenkova shared her expertise and provided valuable tips on how to successfully publish in prestigious Nature Portfolio journals. Researchers, scholars, and students who attended the lecture gained a deeper understanding of the publication process and were able to enhance their academic writing skills. The talk offered a behind-the-scenes look at what editors seek in a paper and how the peer review to publication process works, providing participants with an invaluable opportunity to learn from an industry expert.

FOREIGN DISTINGUISHED LECTURE.
ARTISAN'S ARCADE
On 23rd September 2024, the Department of Basic Science & Humanities, in collaboration with the Literary Society of IEM, ELTAI Kolkata Chapter, Rotary Club, and Lions Club of Kolkata IEM, organized a crafts competition titled "ARTISAN'S ARCADE" at the IEM Management House. The initiative was part of the English Language Laboratory's Innovative Project, where first-year students showcased their creations. Following a rigorous selection process, the finest crafts were chosen for the final round of exhibition and competition.
The crafts were displayed for 24 hours, allowing members of IEM UEM, as well as students of Management House, to attend and encourage the participants. Both external and internal judges were invited to assess the crafts. The competition's theme, "Best out of Waste," inspired the participants to exhibit remarkable innovation and creativity in their works, which earned them significant appreciation and applause.

Next Generation Communication and Microwave Technologies
On September 20, 2024, the IEEE IEM MTT-S Student Branch Chapter, in association with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and IQAC, successfully organized an insightful lecture on the topic "Next Generation Communication and Microwave Technologies - Opportunities and Challenges." The lecture was presented by Dr. Amit Kumar Singh, Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, and provided valuable insights into the future of communication technologies.

On September 20, 2024, students from the Department of Computer Application and Science had the opportunity to visit industrial gas manufacturing units. The Department of Mechanical Engineering successfully concluded a five-day Faculty Development Program on "Rise of the Machines: Robotics and Automation" in association with IEMHRDC on September 20, 2024. We extend our sincere thanks to our Director Sir, Principal Sir, HOD(ME) Sir, and Assistant HOD(ME) Sir for their unwavering support. Special gratitude goes to the organizing committee, particularly Gunjan Sir, for their efforts in making the event a success.
