Nobel Lecture Series organized by Institute of Engineering & Management
On 15th November 2022, IEM in association with UEM organized a Nobel lecture series in online mode. Prof. Takaaki Kajita was the speaker of this session. Prof. Takaaki Kajita is a Japanese physicist who was awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physics for discovering the oscillations of neutrinos from one flavor to another, which proved that those subatomic particles have mass. He shared the prize with Canadian physicist Arthur B. McDonald. On 15th November 2022, the session started at 2.30 pm. About 10,000 students and many faculty members participated in this session. The session was inaugurated by Prof Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President Of the IEM & UEM group. After that Prof. Kajita delivered his lecture. At the end of the session Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, director of the IEM & UEM group felicitated him with a plaque. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks.

IEMCON 2022
Continuing from the outstanding success of IEEE IEMCON 2021, we are very proud to present IEEE
IEMCON 2022 which will provide an opportunity for researchers, educators, and students to discuss
and exchange ideas on issues, trends, and developments in Information Technology, Electronics, and
Mobile Communication. The conference aims to bring together scholars from different backgrounds
to emphasize the dissemination of ongoing research in the fields of Computing, Electronics, and
Mobile Communication. Research papers are invited describing original work in the above-
mentioned fields and related technologies. The conference will include a peer-reviewed program of
technical sessions. All accepted papers will be presented virtually during the parallel sessions of the
conference and the accepted, presented papers will be submitted for publication at IEEE Xplore®
digital library (Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar).
This time also the 13 th Annual Information Technology, Electronics, and Mobile Communication
Conference (IEMCON) were held in Virtual Mode. On 12 th October 2022 the inauguration session
started at 9.00 P.M. Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President of IEM Kolkata, inaugurated the session
by giving his valuable speech. After that Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Director of IEM Kolkata,
delivered his speech. Next session was keynote session where Prof. Dr. Konstantin Novoselov
delivered speech on Physics -inspired learning on Graphs. The conference was conducted for 4 days.
Authors from all over the world have submitted their papers to this conference and also presented
their papers. On 15th October, in the valedictory session, the committee awarded the presenters.
The session ended with a vote of thanks

Nobel Lecture Series: organized by Institute Of Engineering & Management
Institute of Engineering & Management in association with UEM has organized a Nobel Lecture series on 14th October 2022.Prof. Dr. Konstantin Novoselov delivered a lecture on Graphene on that day from 9.30 A.M. The inauguration session was conducted by Prof. Dr. Sanghamitra Poddar. After that, Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President of IEM delivered his vision for this great initiative. All the students from college and faculty members have joined this session through google meet where Prof. Novoselov discussed his research phenomenon on Graphene. Willing students from different departments asked many questions to the professor. The session ended with a vote of thanks to Professor.

Introduction to Competitive Programming session conducted by IEM Coding Club on 17.10.2022
IEM Coding Club– Institute of Engineering and Management for the Session 2022-23 conducted Introduction to Competitive Programming on the 17th October, 2022. The session was hosted in online mode via Zoom, with the number of audience of around 230. The session was nicely conducted by Harsha Gupta(Student, CSE, Competitive Programming Lead,IEMCC). The session was targeted to aware the people about the importance and guide to Competitive Programming. It was really an enlightening and engaging session, which was proved by the active participationand attendance of the participants.

Project Brainstorming Session for Hacktoberfest 2022 - September 26, 2022
The Hacktober Project Brainstorming Session was conducted by Google Developer Student Clubs - IEM (GDSC-IEM), ACM-IEM, IEM Coding club (IEMCC) and MSC-IEM for the session 2022-23 on the 26th September 2022. The session was hosted online and almost 60 participants were present from several departments of IEM. The session was conducted by Souvik Ojha (GDSC-IEM lead), Chaitak Gorai (GDSC-IEM Co-lead), Ahana Mukherjee (GDSC-IEM Pand Outreach lead), and Bhaswati Roy (MSC Lead).
The session was targeted to come up with new and innovative ideas for the Hacktober fest and to present an overview of what Hacktober fest is. The session was a huge success as everyone actively participated and presented their ideas.
Some of the ideas discussed were as follows :
1. Flat registration system.
2. Image Rectifier.
3. Puja Guide.
4. Online voting system.
5. Food donation app.
6. Local Networking app.
7. Tourist Guide app.

Android Jetpack Compose Camp 2022
The Android Jetpack Compose Camp session of Google Developers Student Club - Institute of Engineering and Management for the session 2022-23 was conducted on the 16th, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th of September 2022. The session was hosted online for the first 5 days and then the last was hosted offline. Over 50+ participants were present from almost all the departments.
In this Compose Camp, we developed industry-level projects using MVVM Clean Architecture and the
Jetpack Compose library, in Kotlin. The faculty coordinator was Prof. Sumanta Chakraborty.
The session was conducted by Shagil Islam, App Dev Lead of GDSC-IEM (BTech 3rd year) and the speakers were Deya Hazra and Rohit Kumar.

International Conference on Advanced Physics :IEMPHYS 22
International Conference on Advanced Physics - IEMPHYS 2022 is organized by the Department of Basic Science and Humanities, Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata, India in association with IEM Society of Physics Student Chapter (AIP) and Smart Society, the USA from 22nd September 2022 to 24th September 2022 in the online platform.
IEMPHYS 2022 is an interdisciplinary forum on broad areas of advanced topics in Physics like Solid State Physics, Nuclear Physics, High Energy Physics, Astrophysics, Computational Physics, Nano Science and Nano Technology, Biophysics, Optical system and photonic devices, and Quantum Information Science.
The conference has exhibited the research and technical excellence of scientists and technocrats, representatives from academia and industry. It included talks and keynote lectures delivered by eminent speakers from reputed institutions round the globe, contributed oral paper presentations, and poster presentations on advanced topics in Physics.
Around 43 papers were presented in this conference in different technical sessions. The best paper of every session has been awarded. Selected papers of this conference were published in the International Journal of Innovative Research in Physics a publication of Smart Society, USA.
