Continuing from the outstanding success of IEEE UEMCON 2022, we are very proud to present IEEE UEMCON 2023 which will provide an opportunity for researchers, educators, and students to discuss and exchange ideas on issues, trends, and developments in Computing, Electronics, and Mobile Communication. The conference aims to bring together scholars from different disciplinary backgrounds to emphasize the dissemination of ongoing research in the fields of Ubiquitous Computing, Electronics, and Mobile Communication. IEM is excited to extend a warm welcome to the Batch of 2023 as they have the opportunity to set off on an extraordinary journey, build priceless experiences, and nurture everlasting friendships. On 25th August 2023 IEM celebrated Fresher welcome at Satya Sai Auditorium from 4pm. The day was celebrated by Singing Dancing performances etc. All the first-year students enjoyed it very much.

IEEE Women in Engineering-WIE, Kolkata Section organized IEEE WIE Outreach Workshop on 31st August 2023 at IEM Public School Campus. IEEE R10 EAC and IEEE Kolkata Section sponsor this event. This workshop aims to introduce school students in grades 5-10 to the world of data and its applications in combating climate change. The program includes interesting talks on data generation, AI & ML, hands-on activities, and Q&A sessions designed to help the students understand the basics of data collection and analysis through IoT sensors, visualization, and communication, and how to apply data to combat climate change. Students from CSE (AIML), and CSBS department participated as volunteers in the hands-on program and were encouraged to work on experiments on Smart homes, Automatic door opening systems, Radar systems, Fire alarms, and LASER security systems. IEM Lions & Rotary Club always encourages outreach activities and collaborates with this event.

The BBA department of IEM has organized bconnect2023 on 26th August in the Ashram campus of IEM. Approximately 250 students, 25 alumni, all the faculty members of the BBA Department & and Celebrities from Film and theater attended the program and made it a grand success.

The holy occasion of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated by IEM with members of Prajapitah Bramha Kumari. The members from Prajapitah Bramha Kumari came to IEM on 31st August 2023 and articulated the importance of Raksha Bandhan. The session was conducted for 1 hour in which the guest from Prajapitah Bramha Kumari discussed the values of Rakhsha Bandhan in our life with the faculty and students of IEM. After that, a meditation session was conducted for 15 minutes where the guest trained us on meditation. The great event ended by knotting Rakhi to us.

On 11th August 2023 IEEE IEM CAS student chapter in association with IEEE EDS Kolkata Section organized a Tech Talk on "Prospects and Challenges of VLSI Design in India". Prof. Soumya Pandit and Prof. Arpita Das from the Department of Radio Physics, Calcutta University have delivered talks and interacted with students.

A hackathon was organised by IEEE WIE Kolkata on 21st August 2023 where two student groups under the mentorship of Dr. Priti Das and Prof. Asmita Biswas got 1st prize in two different categories. The student group under the mentorship of Prof. Trisha Paul got 2nd prize in another category. Five projects were selected for this Event out of which 1st prize was received in the Women Empowerment Category,1st prize in Green Energy, and 2nd Prize in Smart resource management.

On 21st August,2023 an inter-department Kabadi tournament was organized at KC playground. students from different departments participated in this event. The event started at 9 AM. And ended at 5pm. the winner team was awarded with Trophy.

IEM-IETE Students' Forum in collaboration with the Department of CSE (IoT), CSE (IoTCSBT), and IT organized a distinguished lecture on the auspicious occasion of the IEM-IETE Students' Forum foundation day celebration. On 10th August 2023 Dr. Chinmoy Ghorai Assistant Professor of Jadavpur University delivered a lecture on “IoT- Connecting the World in a Smarter Way".It was an interactive session.
