‘Spectrum – 2019’ – 2nd International Students’ Conference on ‘Innovations in Science and Technology’- will be organized by Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) in collaboration with The Institution of Engineers(India) from 7th – 9th March, 2019 at Management House, IEM, Kolkata, India. The event will comprise of keynote lectures on various topics by eminent personalities of different domains, technical paper presentation competition, technical poster presentation competition, Quiz competition and Workshops on Emerging technologies. The driving force behind the progress of any civilization is the young generation. However in conventional conferences undergraduate and post graduate students do not get an opportunity to present their innovative ideas. IEM has taken this initiative to provide a global platform for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students, young scientists and budding engineers to present their research work. The aim of this venture is to motivate young minds especially undergraduate and postgraduate students to pursue research in their higher studies. The best paper, best three presentations – oral and poster, winners of quiz competition will be awarded in the conference. To motivate young minds to do good research selected papers presented in the technical sessions will be published in reputed conference proceedings. IEEE IEMCON International Conference is being organized by the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) and the University of Engineering & Management (UEM) at University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada in association with IEEE Vancouver Section. Researchers and delegates from all across the world (71 countries) are participating in this conference and presenting their research papers. ASME EFx was organized at Institute of Engineering & Management, under the ASME IEM Student Section. ASME EFx is a global event undertaken in order to launch and organize tech fests at colleges and universities to help students develop engineering and real world skills. IEM ASME EFx was held on 6.10.2018 with over 12 participating institutions in and around West Bengal and over 400 registered candidates. NOTE: The registration process for this event was unique in it's effort to include special Registration Bands for students which could be remotely monitored in order rule out any incidents of indiscipline. ASME EFx event Speaker Guest List included: Ms. Erin Dolan, ASME Global Manager Mr. Arjun Chatterjee, Chevening Scholar, University of Sussex, Mr. Vishwa Mohan, General Manager of BOSCH Ltd., Mr. Prashant Dhawan, Co-founder of Biomimicry, Mr. Vv, General Manager of Siemens, Mr. Madhukar Sharma, ASME India President, Mr. Routh, ISRO Scientist, Mr. P.
