An Industry Talk was organized on 10th March,2021 by Electrical Engineering Department under IEMCONNECT event. The topic was Chronological Development of Railway Signaling System in India and the Speaker was Dr. Anup Kumar Mandal, Director Digital Communications and Control Pvt.Ltd.  

The Art of Communication is the Language of Leadership" ~ JAMES HUMES IEM TOASTMASTERS CLUB organised RAISE THE TOAST - Introduction to the World of Toastmasters, a demo session glimpses of what happens in the world of Toastmasters were given. The prime focus of the session was to boost confidence and enhance Public Speaking and Leadership Skills along with building effective Network and Connections!

We wholeheartedly congratulate Prof. Dr. Soumi Dutta, Associate Professor, Dept. of BCA, Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), for having received International Teacher Award 2020-21 from International Institute of Organized Research (I2OR), Ministry of MSME, Government of India.  

Team NIVAS of IEM ISHRAE Model student chapter has surpassed many top universities and other renowned Institutes in the Solar Decathlon India  Net Zero Energy water design competition and has eventually made it to finals in  the category  of Multi-housing Family.Heartiest Congratulations to all the members, faculties and mentors who were associated with Team NIVAS.Also a heartfelt thanks to Team Nivas Project Partner Mahindra Life spaces and our Industry Partners D2O, CYPESpain, Inner Engineering, WeGot, Arosia, Inoviea, Asahi, Avrio Energy, Tech Mech Services and Applex.in.  

A 2 Day workshop was organized by IET-IEM Students’ Chapter in collaboration with IET Kolkata Local Network on March 6th-7th,2021. Dr.Tapan Kumar Jain, Professor, Head of the Department in ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING at Indian Institute of Information technology, Nagpur was the keynote speaker. The topic of the workshop included realizing the application of sensors in hands on projects, incorporating the knowledge of Microcontroller and its interfacing between microcontroller and circuit, understanding the importance of programming and executing the output through sensors Gaining hands on knowledge on Smart sensors and its working. The brain of loT, Analog and Digital Sensor World, Hands-on Arduino IDE, Hands-on Node MCU and BLNYK app were explained and demonstrated to the students throughout the two days of the workshop. About 47 students had attended the workshop which included the students from EE, EEE, and ECE department.
