IEM Kolkata under UEM Kolkata got funding and mentorship support from the Patent Information Centre, West Bengal State Council of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal for setting up IPR Cell.

Albert Einstein , one of the greatest minds in history, has left an indelible mark on science and humanity. As we commemorate his birth anniversary, IEEE IEM CAS-S Student Branch Chapter and IEM IEI ECE Student Branch Chapter have organized a talk on Light from Semiconductor Yesterday,Tiday,Tomorrow on 14th March 2024. Prof. Anirban Bhattacharjee, a renowned professor from Calcutta University, will guide us through an exploration of the topic.

IEM organised its official annual Interdepartment football tournament. Like every year, 9 departments took part in the tournament, which was held in Maya Chakrabarti Krirangan, Kulberia.

ISHRAE conducted the successful installation of Kolkata Chapter on 13th of April 2024 for EY-2024-25 at The Silver Spring Club. On this occasion our Student Chapter i.e ISHRAE IEM Model Student Chapter secured the position of 1st Runners up in the category of the Best Student Chapter. Our achievement in NSDC and aQuest were also mentioned by the society President and to witness the same was really an acheivement.

Department of IT, CSE (IoT), CSE (IoT CSBT) has organized a IoT & Cloud-Computing Lab’s Project exhibition at Satyasai Auditorium. 3rd Year Students of these three departments have demonstrated more than 50 IoT integrated Cloud-Computing projects in front of Very Experienced Researchers, Developers and Experts from Cognizant, TCS and Adani Technologies.

MBA department of IEM has organised an Industrial visit on 6thh April 2024 to Cocacola centre.

Blitzz 2.0 is the second installment of the famous annual football tournament organised by IEM students. This tournament, held in Newtown, brings together teams from different parts of Kolkata as well as adjacent regions. Players come to showcase their skills on the pitch and foster connections off it. Blitzz 2.0 aims to promote inclusivity, understanding, and friendship through the beautiful game of football. This time, Blitzz 2.0 has invited 32 teams, each consisting of 5+3=8 players - An upgrade to the previous rendition of the competition, which consisted of 8 teams, each consisting of 4+2=6 players. These 32 teams compete against each other, in a Knockout format. Prizes - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Trophies and Medals. Individual prizes - Man of the Match, Best player of the Tournament, Highest Goalscorer as well as Best GK of the Tournament.
