The holy occasion of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated by IEM with members of Prajapitah Bramha Kumari. The members from Prajapitah Bramha Kumari came to IEM on 31st August 2023 and articulated the importance of Raksha Bandhan. The session was conducted for 1 hour in which the guest from Prajapitah Bramha Kumari discussed the values of Rakhsha Bandhan in our life with the faculty and students of IEM. After that, a meditation session was conducted for 15 minutes where the guest trained us on meditation. The great event ended by knotting Rakhi to us. Department of Computer Application (MCA) organized a Model Presentation & Innovation Project Competition on 4th October 2023 at the Institute of Engineering & Management, Management House. A total of 12 teams registered and have given Live demonstrations of their project. The winner and runners-up team have been awarded. IEEE Women in Engineering-WIE, Kolkata Section organized IEEE WIE Outreach Workshop on 31st August 2023 at IEM Public School Campus. IEEE R10 EAC and IEEE Kolkata Section sponsor this event. This workshop aims to introduce school students in grades 5-10 to the world of data and its applications in combating climate change. The program includes interesting talks on data generation, AI & ML, hands-on activities, and Q&A sessions designed to help the students understand the basics of data collection and analysis through IoT sensors, visualization, and communication, and how to apply data to combat climate change. Students from CSE (AIML), and CSBS department participated as volunteers in the hands-on program and were encouraged to work on experiments on Smart homes, Automatic door opening systems, Radar systems, Fire alarms, and LASER security systems. No Code platform workshop organized by Department of BBA on 19th and 22nd September,2023. The resource person Mr. Naibedya Mohanty conducted hands-on interactive session on how to create a website to promote an idea and product without having explicit coding knowledge. Kabadi Tournament in IEM. On 21st August,2023 an inter-department Kabadi tournament was organized at KC playground. students from different departments participated in this event. The Department of Mechanical Engineering, IEM Kolkata, organized the International Symposium on Sustainable Waste Management, ISSWM 2023. The Symposium comprised of 7 keynote speeches, 9 technical sessions, and a field visit. The event was graced by keynote speakers from India, Italy, Bangladesh, Thailand and Malaysia. Different sessions were chaired by renowned professors from Calcutta University, IIEST Shibpur, CSIR-NEERI, Jadavpur University and CSIR-CGCRI. 60 papers were presented from different universities and institutes such as IISc, IITs, NITs, CSIR-AMPRI, RBU, Presidency University, BITS Pilani, COE Pune, KUET Bangladesh, Osmania University, Tripura Univeristy and BCKV. The conference proceedings are to be published by Springer, Elsevier and the Journal of Solid Waste Technology and Management (Scopus indexed). The Symposium was followed by a technical field visit at Nimpith.

International Conference on Advanced Physics : IEMPHYS-23 IEMPHYS-23 was organized by the Department of Basic Science and Humanities in collaboration with Smart Society USA and the Society of Physics Student Chapter (SPS), American Institute of Physics from 1st to 3rd September 2023 at CII Auditorium of IEM Management House. On 1st September 2023, the inaugural session was conducted at 4.30 p.m. at CII Auditorium by chief guest Prof. Dr. Prashanta K. Panigrahi, the Director of the Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research, Kolkata. The conference was conducted for 3 days and guest lecturers from other countries joined through an online platform. In-house students came and presented their papers in front of the Judge and the participants from the outer state joined through an online platform. The best presenter was awarded at the end of the session. It was a great experience for all the faculty members of the BSH department that they conducted a hybrid conference after the pandemic. AIKYAM-The HR Club of BBA DEPARTMENT, IEM has organised an Industrial Tour at BMW Industries on 07/10/2023.BMW Industries prepares TMT Bars and Iron Pipes. The students not only have seen the entire production process but also have understood the practical issues related to Industrial Relations and Labour Management.
