He is based within the School of Computing and Mathematics at Ulster University.   He received a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Systems and DPhil in Biomedical Engineering both from Ulster University. Chris joined the University as a Research Fellow in 1999 and was appointed as Lecture in Computer Science in 2000. Following this he held positions of Senior Lecture and Reader within the Faculty of Computing and Engineering before his appointment as Professor of Biomedical Engineering in 2008. In 2016 he was awarded the Senior Distinguished Research Fellowship from Ulster University,   His research within biomedical engineering addresses the themes of the development and evaluation of technologies to support ambient assisted living. Specifically, this has involved research in the topics of mobile based reminding solutions, activity recognition and behaviour modelling and more recently technology adoption modelling. He has published extensively in these areas with papers spanning theoretical, clinical and biomedical engineering domains. He has been a grant holder of Research Projects funded by National, European and International funding bodies.   Chris is the Group Leader of the Smart Environments Research Group and also the co-PI of the Connected Health Innovation Centre at Ulster University.   *Note* : After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. *All participants will receive a participation certificate after the webinar.*

Topic:AI -How much truth and Myth Speaker:Ms.Siboli Mukherjee She is an NIT graduate with more than 17 years of experience in Telecom domain, currently associated with Vodafone. She has a strong experience in data science and speaks frequently at different forums and has also taken initiatives to organize many workshops and events. Some of her research interests are medical science, sustainability etc. 2nd session(12pm-01:30pm) Topic:Basics of Python Speaker:Dr. Amol Goje Amol C. Goje has served as a Director, VIIT, Baramati, Pune for last 19 Years. He has a total of over Twenty Five years of experience in the field of Information and Computer Technology (ICT). Dr. Amol’s main area of interest is to work for underprivileged people in the rural part of India and his noteworthy innovation is Computer Mobile Van, which are economically sustainable to the rural schools and colleges. He has done lot of research work in Information Technology and its application for rural community.He is key player in setting up the Community Training and Learning Centers (CTLC) in Maharashtra, to provide Computer Training to the women from the Self Help groups (SHG).He was also a member of the Planning Commission, Government of India in Information Technology division Dr. Amol has received (i)Ashoka Fellow award in the year 2002. (ii)Marathwada Bhushan Award for spreading the IT education to the masses. (iii)Manthan (AIF) award successively for two years in Year 2005 and 2006. (iv)“Maharashtra IT award (IT HRD) in 2008. IEI-IEM students' chapter (Electrical Division) in collaboration with applex.in has rolled out to organize a workshop on "Designing and Development of OCR (Optical Character Recognition) android app" from tomorrow at 5:00 P.M. This program has been carefully designed to impart knowledge on android app development with the prime objective of supporting entrepreneurs and to catalyses startup culture. He is the Director of the Data Science Institute. He is also the part-time Chief Informatics Officer of the PROOF Centre of Excellence for the Prevention of organ failures . The latter is based at St Paul's Hospital. Since 2016, he has been the holder of the Canadian Research Chair on Data Science and Analytics. His research areas are data mining, text mining, health informatics, sensor analytics and data bases. As outlined in the research project section of this site, he has been focusing on genomics data and text data over the past ten years. On the genomics side, with the PROOF Centre team, his work focuses on the development of biomarker panels for various conditions related to organ failures in hearts, lungs or kidneys. On the text side, his work with the Natural Language Processing Lab focuses on conversations, such as emails, blogs and meetings. The objective is to create meta data, such as natural language summaries, to facitate access to the otherwise unstructured raw data.   He joined UBC as an assistant professor in . UBC is his alma mater, as he obtained the BSc. (Hons.) degree in Computer Science . He continued his studies at the University of Waterloo, where he got the M.Math. degree in Computer Science in 1988.
