IEM ECE Dept. in association with IEEE IEM CASS, IEEE IEM WIE, IEM ECE IEI student branch chapter has organized a alumni research talk on 5th February 2024 in the seminar hall of the IEM Gurukul campus.The speaker of the event was Mr. Shankha Mukherjee who is the PhD Research Scholar, Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (Imec) & KU Leuven, Belgium.

A quiz competition was organised by IEEE IEM CASS and IEEE IEM APS Student Branch Chapter in International Kolkata Book Fair 2024 on 25th January 2024.Few glimpses of quiz competition are attached here.

Two Days International Symposium on "Digital Transformation" held at IEM Salt Lake Campus on 01.02.2024. It was organized by Institute of Engineering & Management - University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata. The Guest Speakers were, Prof Dr Md. Imamul Hassan Bhuiyan, Professor, EE, BUET, Bangladesh, Mr. Arihant Kothari, Dy. Manager, NASSCOM Startups, Mr. Sourav Chakraborty, Founder & CEO, SCONTO & Mr. Rajarshi Nag, Founder & CEO, Drivers4Me.

The speaker, Shri Vishwas Lapalkar stressed the notion that all religions lead to the same ultimate truth and that religious variety ought to be embraced rather than used to foment conflict. The speech immediately captivated the audience and set the tone for his impactful address, which was delivered in front of about 40 faculty members. He discussed the necessity of seeing the similarities among all religions as well as the universal ideals of tolerance and acceptance. The event session marked a crucial moment in the propagation of Indian philosophy and spiritual teachings worldwide, establishing Swami Vivekananda as a key figure in the promotion of interfaith understanding and universal brotherhood.

The session served as a reminder that empowering girls is not just a one-day affair but a continuous effort that requires collective action. Speaking in favor of girls' empowerment, Dr. Pritha Bhattacharjee highlighted the achievements, challenges, and potential of the girl child while advocating for their empowerment. The goal of the session was to acknowledge each woman's perseverance, intelligence, and potential regardless of the constraints or expectations placed on her by society. Around 50 members were present in the session. The session aimed to create a lasting impact by building a future where gender equality is not just a goal but a reality.

IEM-UEM Annual Sports Meet will organised on 3rd February 2024 at Kulberia play ground.

Department of Electrical Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata, will organize a conference on Intelligent Electrical Systems & Industrial Automation.The conference will be held from 5th to 7th April 2024.All accepted proceedings will be published in Springer Book Series “Studies in Automatic, Data-driven and Industrial Computing”
