Previous year Refcold prize winner team Samarpan and Sagnik, ME Dept., Final year student of Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata with project name EDICOAT achieved another award along with getting MOU signed with WBEIDC and Bengal Chamber of commerce. Society of Physics Students Chapter, IEM is a student chapter of Society of Physics Student, an association of American Institute of Physics. The faculty advisors of this chapter are Dr. Koyel Ganguly and Arnab Basu. About 80 students and 12 faculties of IEM are members of this chapter. Society of Physics Students, American Institute of Physics has recognized Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) as an Outstanding Chapter for year 2018- 2019, SPS Chapter. Sagnik Maity, 2018 pass out batch of Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), once again made all of us proud with his new achievement. He got an acceptance from Michigan Tech University. Earlier he was an aQuest 1st national runner up along with a job offer in Hitachi and worked for Pharphur cooling tower through campus placements.

It was a big and proud moment when the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur handed over the PCB maker machine (a mini-CNC, designed in the Innovation Laboratory of UEM Jaipur by the students) to MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam University of Technology, formerly WBUT, the state University of West Bengal). It is being handed over by Prof. Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee, Vice-Chancellor of UEM Jaipur to Prof. Dr. Saikat Maitra, Vice-Chancellor of MAKAUT, in presence of Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Director, IEM-UEM group. Bharat Chamber of Commerce has judged IEM as the Best Management Institute. Sri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Steel and Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India handed over a Plaque, a certificate and Rs. The Indian Chamber of Commerce oganized a programme called INSPIRATION: Empowering Budding Women Entrepreneurs at The Oberoi Grand Kolkata on 19th December, 2019. IEM participated in this event and were declared winners for providing the best business idea. Our students developed a software application called stiQR . This app is an attempt to enhance note making with modern and digital methods of studying. At times , it becomes difficult to recollect the sources from where we read a particular topic. stiQR it provides a platform to securely store videos ,audios, images, pdfs at one place and access it any time with the stiQR it application as required. Shekhar Sonthalia, Indranil Roy and Tridwep Mandal, 3rd Year, IT department students of Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) won the first prize at project competition on cyber security at Cyber Secure Conclave organized by Indian Chamber of Commerce in association with CDAC and Nasscom at ITC Sonar Bangla today i.e. on 25th April 2019. 13 students of Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), visited Acrex 2019 Mumbai( South Asia largest HVAC exhibition & Conference) for various events and awards. 1. Hitazi all star award - 1 student 2. National design competition; winner & runner up awards- 4 out of 6 eligible candidates. 3. aQuest final direct entry for semifinal winner- 2 4. aQuest wild card entry- 4  5. FSAE poster for FITE award- 2 This is the rarest situation for any student chapter of ISHRAE across India and it is a proud moment for IEM students to get this opportunity and exposure.
