On October 21, 2024, we marked a historic milestone for our institute with the inauguration of the first-ever Students’ Chapter of the Indian Chemical Society (ICS) in the history of the ICS—the ICS-IEM Students’ Chapter of Chemical Sciences. Held at the IEM Management House, Salt Lake Campus, and organized by the Department of Basic Science and Humanities (BSH) in collaboration with the ICS, this chapter was launched in ICS’s centenary year, celebrating its founding by Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray, the Father of Indian Chemistry, in 1924. Esteemed guests Prof. Sudip Kumar Das, Honorary Secretary of ICS, and Prof. D. C. Mukherjee, Past President of ICS, shared their invaluable insights, enriching our students with their expertise. The event underscored a proud achievement and a lasting legacy for chemical sciences at our institute.
