Faculty Development Program on Open-Source Software

An extensive faculty development program was held at the Institute Of Engineering and Management from 15th December to 21st December 2021, organized by the Department of Information Technology and Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Human Resource Development Cell. The current pandemic scenario has increased the need of using the open-source software for effective learning of different technical subjects in online mode. 

The program was held for seven days, after the class hours from 4:15PM to 5:30 PM.

The coordinators for this program were Prof. Subhabrata Sengupta (Department of Information Technology) and Prof. Sumanta Chakraborty (Department of Computer Science and Engineering)

The program was held at Seminar Hall 3 of the Gurukul Campus, IEM.

First Day: On 15th December 2021, Paramita Mitra and Prof. Subindu Saha (Department of Information Technology) delivered a talk and demonstrated the details on Logism software.  

Second Day: On 16th December 2021, Prof. Kajari Sur (Department of Information Technology) delivered a talk on LT Spice software, along with the live demonstration of the same.

Third Day: Detailed analysis and demonstrations on Weka: Machine learning tool (Department of Computer Science and Engineering) were delivered by Prof. Anupam Mondal and Prof. Sainik Kumar Mahato on 17th December, 2021.

Fourth Day and Fifth Day: A well informative talk followed by demonstration was delivered by Prof. Amit Kumar Das (Department of Computer Science and Engineering) on R: Machine learning tool for two consecutive days.
