On 17th January2023, Alumni Talk series was conducted by 2013 pass-out alumni-Dr.
Procheta Sen. Dr.Sen is currently working as a Assistant Professor in the Department of
Computer Science at University of Liverpool (UOL), United Kingdom. Before joining UOL, she
completed her postdoctoral researcher in the Web Intelligence Group at University College
London (UCL). Dr. Sen completed her PhD. in 2021 from Dublin City University, Ireland. She
was affiliated with ADAPT centre Ireland during her PhD. Dr Sen’s area of interest includes –
Information Retrieval (IR), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML).
Shee started the talk with basics of Machine learning. Then, she talked briefly about her
research interest and her current research area. She briefly explained her doctoral work. She
also shared tips and tricks for good research and how to start research work.
Dr. Sen also interacted with students and also shared her journey of becoming professor in
University of Liverpool.
