Short Bio of Speaker: Andreas Diekmann is Professor at the *ETH Zurich* and a Seniorprofessor at the *University of Leipzig* (2018 -). He was a Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Study Berlin (2017 – 2018). He earned a doctoral degree from the University of Hamburg (Dr. rer. pol.), and received the “venia legendi” (Dr. rer. pol. habil.) from the *University of Munich* . His areas of research are experimental game theory, environmental and methods of empirical research. He served as a member of the Humboldt professor price committee and was a chairman and senator of the section of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina (2010 – 2019). He is also a fellow of the European Academy of Sociology and co-editor and board member of several professional journals and research institutions. Research activities focus on the reduction of energy consumption, an analysis of the environmental burden of metropolitan areas with geo-referenced panel data and experimental research on social dilemma games.
