On 8th March,2020, IEM-ECE Department took an initiative for celebrating Women’s Day at ‘NatunGhar’ , an old age home in Rabindrapally, Keshtopur, under the banner of IEEE WiE section and NSS&CSR Activities and Jagorani NGO. Few professors of ECE Department-Prof.RatnaChakrabarty ,Prof.Mili Sarkar , Prof.Srijita Madam, Prof.SamitKarmakar, Prof.SoumikKundu and Prof.AparnaBiswas also participated diligently in this activity.
On behalf of International Women’s Day 2022, Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata organized a small celebration gathering for all the faculty members of CSE department on 08.03.2022 in the Central lab of CSE department. All faculty members arranged for a hearty treat to recognize the importance of the day. Students from the department joined in this gathering.

On 09.03.2022 Department of Computer Science and Engineering of IEM, Kolkata organized a CSR activity where masks and sanitizers were distributed from IEM Pavilion in Kolkata Book Fair 2022 by the faculty members and students of the CSE department. It was a very successful event where kids, college goers, common people, policemen and many such people came to take the masks and sanitizers.

Students of Department of IT and CSE (IoT, CSBT) distributed masks and sanitizers on the grounds of Kolkata International Book Fair on and from 1st March 2022 to 13th March 2022 at Central Park, Kolkata.
They also conducted quiz sessions on Covid 19 with the objective of creating awareness among the people about the different covid protocols. Many visitors of the fair attended these quiz sessions.
Students also did live performances in between the quiz sessions to generate enthusiasm among the participants.

Department of Information Technology, donated 20 blankets for the differently abled persons of Arogya Sandhan Residential Care Home on 10th February, 2022.Arogya Sandhan Residential Care Home for differently abled persons is a non-profit social organization, established in the year 2017 for serving the poor and needy people. differently able persons and suffering from natural disasters of the society. It is situated in Ramakrishna Sarani, Eastern Park, Santoshpur, Kolkata.Faculty members of the department along with twenty-five students participated in this noble mission. The department continuously involves in these kinds of activities to serve the society in every possible way.

Every mother has likely come to the recognition that her maternal experience is totally individual, regardless of the universality of motherhood itself. Many women choose to be foster mothers for many reasons. While infertility can be a reason in some cases, women everywhere foster because they believe in opening their home and giving children a better life. Some women choose fostering as another way to be a mother, as an alternative to adoption. Becoming a foster parent and opening your home can be so very difficult. This is a major problem now a days. Regarding this topic Institute of Engineering & Management in association with Kolkata Nivedita Shakti organised an event on 22nd January 2022 from 4.00 pm in online mode. The chief Guest of the event is Dr. Siddhartha Chatterjee. All faculties of IEM, all the members of KNS are presented in this event to make it a grand success. We are thankful to Dr. Chatterjee that he gave his valuable time to us & share his experience among us. The other speaker of the event was Dr. Nalini Gupta, Dr. Ratnabali Chakraborty, Dr. Ruma Bhattacharya. They gave their point of view regarding the topic. The meeting ended up thanking to all.

Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) students has celebrated the Republic Day on 26th January 2022 of Salt Lake (Kolkata). 20 students took part in this event. In this occasion flag has been hoisted in the college campus.
The IEM group has always strived to serve humanity, and never leaving an opportunity, a team of professors, other staff members and students have arrived at Ahiritala to donate blankets and warmth.

Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) students in association with Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) have celebrated Harit Prem Mahatsov from January 23 to 29. In thisregard green talks have been arranged on the Innovation in Build environment for green & Sustainable future in virtual mode. A team of 50 IEM Students took part in this initiative.

One of the formidable freedom fighters who called the youth of the country to come together and fight for Independence is none other than Subhas Chandra Bose. This famous Indian nationalist was born on 23rd January 1897 in Cuttack. On this day we just pay tribute to the birth of India’s most celebrated revolutionary and visionary freedom fighter who spent his entire life fighting for the independence and honor of his nation. But the Heroic men always remember after their death. They become perpetual, death cannot wipe away their notoriety and name. His birthday is celebrated every year with great honor by the people including government and non-government organizations. This year Institute of Engineering & Management in association with Bharat Vikas Parishad & Kolkata Nivedita Shakti celebrates the 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. All faculties of IEM, all the members of KNS & BVP are presented in this event to make it a grand success. Anchor Prof. Dr. Sanghamitra Podder started the session by giving her tribute to this great Soldier. The Main Session was started by singing a song, then little girls from Kolkata Nivedita Shakti tells about Netaji. The chief guest of the event is Swami Vedaswarupananda & Dr. Pragati Bandyopadhyay. Dr.Bandyopadhyay is the Professor of History in St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata .Madam tells us about Netaji, his struggle, everything’s to Netaji. Swamiji tells us how Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda taught Netaji how to love and worship the country as Divine Mother. Session was ended by singing the National Anthem & all the members stood up to give respect to the national anthem. Then the anchor of the event ended the session.

UTTARAN has successfully completed their first charity event on the occasion of Children’s Day
with the support and hard work of the department of Electrical Engineering by distributing few
necessary items to the residents (children of age group 6-13) of Siddharth United Social Welfare
Mission.On the very day of the event few students and teachers of IEM started their journey around 2‘o o’clock in the afternoon, maintaining all the Covid Protocols. We went to our destination by College Bus around 2.30pm. There we started our celebration of the special day by cutting a beautiful cake and distributing it to all the residents of Siddharth United Social Welfare Mission. There were a total of 11 children and we, the students of IEM, distributed a full sleeve sweater, a woolen hat, chocolates and cold cream to them. Also, we did not forget to click some pictures with them to make this day memorable. After the end of the celebration we returned back to our Institute around 4.30 in the evening. The first event of UTTARAN was indeed a great experience in our life.
