A distinguished lecture was organized by the IEM ECE CASS society on 3rd March 2023 in the science Auditorium of the IEM Gurukul campus. Prof. Dr. Sudipta Chakraborty from IBM T J Watson research center delivered a talk on low-power quantum computing. All the faculty members along with students from different years have participated in this talk.

Institute of Engineering & Management in association with Smart society USA has conducted the 3rd International Conference on Innovations in Energy Management and Renewable Resources (IEMRE-2023) from 16th February to 18th February 2023. Six international Keynote speakers from different countries along with an Indian keynote speaker attended this conference to make it a grand success. Presenters from different countries participated in this conference. All the selected and peer reviewed papers will be published as the *conference proceedings with Springer in their prestigious “Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering” series*.
On 17/02/2023 an industry visit has been done by students of CSE(AIML), CSBS, at Cyber Security Center of Excellence, Govt. of West Bengal.
Like every year this year also IEM-UEM group organized the IEM UEM Kolkata Marathon 2023.on 29th January 2023 Marathon started from IEM Management Campus. Prof Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President of the IEM UEM group inaugurated the marathon program by hosting the flag at 5.30 pm. participants from all over India came and join this Marathon. There were three categories: 5km 10km and 21 km. 300 volunteers who are students of IEM worked hard, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sanghamitra Poddar ,to make this event a grand success. The Winner was awarded Medal and a cash prize at the end.
The Annual Cultural Programme of IEM was held on the college premises on the 21st and 22nd of January 2023. Presided over by the Principal of the college, the function was attended by faculty members from different departments. Distinguished guests and the students of the college also attended the inaugural function. The events of the day-long programme included music, recitation, dance, and story-telling. Everybody enjoyed the cultural function and highly appreciated the organizers.
On 07.02.2023 CSE and CSE(AI) departments organized a CSR activity at Kolkata book fair 2023 at the IEM UEM stall under the IEM-CSE-CSI Student chapter and IEM-ACM Student chapter. Mask and sanitizers are distributed amongst visitors. The event was a great success.
IEM-IETE Students’ Forum conducting a quiz contest in front of the IEM Pavilion. Prof. Dr. Moutushi Biswas Singh and Prof. Dr. Sosovan Jana along with students conducted the quiz and many visitors participated in this event and won the prize.
On 28th January 2023 IEM BBA department organised an industrial tour to Jaya Shree Textiles in Rishra.students from BBA department participated in this industrial tour.

The conference will primarily focus on the amalgamation of Mathematics for modern scientific investigations together with the technological innovations of Computing.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) organized an event yesterday(24.01.2023) from 04.15 PM to 05.30 PM in CSE Central lab in physical mode. The name of the event is “RE-CREATION” where students used non-disposable daily use products to make handicraft items. Students had a very good time and fun making these items.

Mr. Sohang Sengupta is the Founder of ZeroDollarSecurity and Senior Partner for Cibertix Technologies LLP, has always harbored an acute passion for Cyber Security, ever since the beginning of his +2. His knowledge in Cyber Security and the prestigious selection at the KWHS Top 30 Young Leader, University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business helped him bag his first internship, even before starting college, with one of the NIFTY 50 companies of India. He was the youngest member of the IEDC Cell of IEM and founded the first Cyber Security Cell under IEDC. He has been appointed as the Chief Cybersecurity Mentor at the Centre of Excellence, ZeroDollarSecurity at Jadavpur University. Adding onto that Sohang has also been a speaker at NASSCOM, Netherlands India Chamber of Commerce and Trade, Confederation of Indian Industries, Indian Chamber of Commerce to name a few. Sohang currently is the co-founder of a 2.6 Million Dollar Stealth Company operating in the Student Community segment.
Mr. Sohang Sengupta was the speaker of the session conducted on 11th August, 2022.
He talked about key skills required by the students to become a professional.
Mr. Sohang advised the students to Work hard and to know their own worth. He suggested they learn the skill and “know-how” to sell themself. He also shared innumerable anecdotes with the students from his life to emphasize the same.
He asked the students to figure out what they are good at and better their knowledge in the same area. He said this will bring them success in their professional life.
The event was conducted in offline mode with 87 active participants.
IEM-IETE Students’ Forum celebrated IETE Students’ Day at Seminar Hall 3, Gurukul Campus, IEM, Kolkata from 4:10 PM onwards. Prof. Dr. Moutushi Singh delivered the welcome address. Prof. Dr. Debashis De, Chairman IETE, Kolkata, Dr. Aniruddha Nag, Secretary, IETE, Kolkata, Prof. Dr. Jyoti Sekhar Banerjee and other dignitaries were present in virtual mode and enlightened our students with their talk. Prof. Subhabrata Sengupta also delivered a talk at this event. Finally, the certificate has been presented to the new members of the IEM-IETE Students’ Forum and organizing students.
On the occasion of National Engineers day,IEM in association with Vivekananda Vijan Mission organized an Event on 15th September 2022 from 4 P.M. To recognize the contribution of Engineers to the development of the nation the day is celebrated all over India. The program was held in Seminar Hall where students from all departments gathered and made it a grand success. Faculty members from different departments participated in this event. Prof. Dr. Partha Sarathi Chakraborty from Jadavpur University was the key speaker of the event. The Program started with the inauguration speech of Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Director of IEM, and Kolkata. Then Prof. Chakraborty discussed the importance of the day and the role of Sir Moksha Gundam Visvesvaraya in modern India. After that, a quiz competition was organized for the students. The event ended with the felicitation of the speaker.

IQAC of IEM in association with UEM Jaipur has organized a Physiotherapy Camp on 28th September 2022 at IEM Gurukul Campus. Faculty Members from IEM have joined this program and made it a grand success. Professors from UEM Jaipur along with some students came and provided therapy to students and faculty members.
On 28th November 2022, IEM in association with UEM organized a Seminar to celebrate 75 years of Azadi Amrit Mahotsav. Prof. Dr. Partha S. Ghosh who is a renowned management consultant/strategist and philanthropist delivered his lecture on “India towards 100: How must higher education play a transformational role?” Partha S. Ghosh is a renowned management consultant/strategist and philanthropist, who is often addressed as a “creative problem solver” and a “visionary leader” by government and industry leaders across multiple nations in Asia Pacific, Europe, and America, policy advisor, strategist for Corporates and Governments. Earlier Mr. Ghosh was a partner at McKinsey & Company, currently Professor of Practice at Tufts University, Massachusetts. He has also delivered leadership lessons at MIT & Harvard. Founder of The Partha S. Ghosh Academy of Leadership, India’s first-of-its-kind Academy of Leadership at IIT Kharagpur. All the faculty member from IEM & UEM has joined the lecture. The session started on 28th November from 6.00 P.M. The session was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President of IEM & UEM Group. After that Prof Ghosh delivered the lecture. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks.
On 15th November 2022, IEM in association with UEM organized a Nobel lecture series in online mode. Prof. Takaaki Kajita was the speaker of this session. Prof. Takaaki Kajita is a Japanese physicist who was awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physics for discovering the oscillations of neutrinos from one flavor to another, which proved that those subatomic particles have mass. He shared the prize with Canadian physicist Arthur B. McDonald. About 10,000 students and many faculty members participated in this talk and through the online platform. The session was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President Of the IEM & UEM group. After that Prof. Kajita delivered his lecture. At the end of the session Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, director of the IEM & UEM group facilitated him with a plaque. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks.
Institute of Engineering & Management in association with UEM has organized a Nobel Lecture series on 14th October 2022. Prof. Dr. Konstantin Novoselov delivered a lecture on Graphene on that day from 9.30 A.M. The inauguration session was conducted by Prof. Dr. Sanghamitra Poddar. After that Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President of IEM delivered his vision for this great initiative. All the students from college and faculty members have joined this session through google meet where Prof. Novoselov discussed his research phenomenon on Graphene. Willing students from different departments asked many questions to the professor. The session ended with a vote of thanks to Professor.
On 3rd September 2022, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of IEM organized a seminar on National Education Policy (NEP). The key objective of the seminar was to implement the NEP in Engineering and Management Education. Padmashree Prof. Bimal Kumar Roy who is the Former Chairman of the National Statistical Commission, India along with Prof. Anupam Basu, Director of the National Institute of Technology, was the guest speaker of the Seminar. The seminar started at 11 A.M. in the Science Auditorium of the IEM Gurukul campus. Faculty members from the different departments gathered in the Auditorium and made the seminar a grand success. The session started with the inauguration speech by Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakraborty, Director of IEM Kolkata. After that Prof. Roy discussed the National Education policy with all the faculty members and explain the importance of NEP in today’s education. Prof. Anupam Basu has also discussed how to implement the NEP in Engineering and Management Education. The Session ended with a token of appreciation given to the guest speakers by our Principal Prof. Dr. Arun Kumar Bar.

Many women choose to be foster mothers for many reasons. While infertility can be a reason in some cases, women everywhere foster because they believe in opening their home and giving children a better life. Some women choose fostering as another way to be a mother, as an alternative to adoption. Becoming a foster parent and opening your home can be so very difficult. This is a major problem now a days. Regarding this topic Institute of Engineering & Management in association with Kolkata Nivedita Shakti organised an event on 22nd January 2022 from 4.00 pm in online mode. The chief Guest of the event is Dr. Siddhartha Chatterjee. All faculties of IEM, all the members of KNS are presented in this event to make it a grand success. We are thankful to Dr. Chatterjee that he gave his valuable time to us & share his experience among us. Institute of Engineering & Management in association with Vijnanika Shakti VIPNET Science Club for Girls of Kolkata Nivedita Shakti (KNS) organised a Readathon program on 20 th February 2022 at 8 p.m. All faculties along with 50 students of IEM, all the members of KNS were presented in the program. Students from class 3 to 12 were also presented in this event. Great Writer S.G. Basu was presented in that event as a chief guest. In these program contestants must share their experience in pandemic situation like the precautions they have taken to protect to themselves & their family members. The novel coronavirus paused all out-of-doors activities of human & bring the world into home. It was very difficult for human to kept themselves into room. Many participants share their perspective regarding COVID 19.Tithi Ghosh from class 5 shared her experience in this pandemic situation. It became very painful for her that she cannot go school for last 2 years, how she missed her school, friend. Also chief guest share her experience, how she spend her day with her family in this pandemic situation. The program was continued for 2 hours.

UTTARAN has successfully completed their first charity event on the occasion of Children’s Day with the support and hard work of the department of Electrical Engineering by distributing few necessary items to the residents (children of age group 6-13) of Siddharth United Social Welfare Mission. On the very day of the event few students and teachers of IEM, started their journey around 2 ‘o clock in the afternoon, maintaining all the Covid Protocols. We went to our destination by College Bus around 2.30pm. There we started our celebration of the special day by cutting a beautiful cake and distributed to all the residents of Siddharth United Social Welfare Mission. There were total 11 children and we, the students of IEM, distributed full sleeve sweater, a woolen hat, chocolates and cold cream to them. Also, we did not forget to click some pictures with them to make this day memorable. After the end of the celebration we returned back to our Institute around 4.30 in the evening. The first event of UTTARAN was indeed a great experience in our life

On 16.11.2021 the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata in association with IEM-CSE CSI Student Chapter and IEM-ACM Student Chapter organized a social activity event. Basically, 25 orphan children were given school bags, lunch, different useful and enjoyable goodies like chocolate, juice, snacks, copies, pencil, eraser, cold cream, etc. The student volunteers from IEM-CSE CSI Student Chapter and IEM-ACM Student Chapter extended their helping hand in organizing the event. The department feels blessed to get an opportunity to make these little children happy

On the 6th of March, 2022 University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata in collaboration with Institute of Engineering & Management & CNG, in association with T2 hosted the event Cyclothon – a cycle marathon with a motivation to celebrate the spirit of womanhood, commemorating International Women’s Day. The ride to ‘break the bias’ started from the University Gate en-route Biswabangla Gate and Novotel crossing, with an approximate count of 300 exuberant cyclists, in two categories of 10KM-Courage Ride and 20KM-Warrior Ride. The peep of the day witnessed the merriment and zest of happy riders, breaking through the monotony of life and feeling the gush of fresh morning air which was followed by a brief felicitation ceremony wherein finishers were awarded medals to honor their ride for the cause.
On 20 th August, 2022 “Kolkata Heritage Walk” was organized by Vivekananda Kendra Paschimbanga Pranta, Kolkata Nivedita Shakti & Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata on the eve of 150 th birth anniversary of Rishi Aurobindo, 125 th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose & 75 th Years of Indian Independence. The walk was held from Sri Aurobindo Bhavan to Netaji Bhavan. A total of around 2579 students and faculty members from IEM participated in the walk.

Students of Department of IT and CSE (IoT, CSBT) distributed masks and sanitizers on the grounds of Kolkata International Book Fair on and from 1st March 2022 to 13th March 2022 at Central Park, Kolkata.
They also conducted quiz sessions on Covid 19 with the objective of creating awareness among the people about the different covid protocols. Many visitors of the fair attended these quiz sessions.
Students also did live performances in between the quiz sessions to generate enthusiasm among the participants.

Department of Information Technology, donated 20 blankets for the differently abled persons of Arogya Sandhan Residential Care Home on 10th February, 2022.Arogya Sandhan Residential Care Home for differently abled persons is a non-profit social organization, established in the year 2017 for serving the poor and needy people. differently able persons and suffering from natural disasters of the society. It is situated in Ramakrishna Sarani, Eastern Park, Santoshpur, Kolkata.Faculty members of the department along with twenty-five students participated in this noble mission. The department continuously involves in these kinds of activities to serve the society in every possible way.

One of the formidable freedom fighters who called the youth of the country to come together and fight for Independence is none other than Subhas Chandra Bose. This famous Indian nationalist was born on 23rd January 1897 in Cuttack. On this day we just pay tribute to the birth of India’s most celebrated revolutionary and visionary freedom fighter who spent his entire life fighting for the independence and honor of his nation. But the Heroic men always remember after their death. They become perpetual, death cannot wipe away their notoriety and name. His birthday is celebrated every year with great honor by the people including government and non-government organizations. This year Institute of Engineering & Management in association with Bharat Vikas Parishad & Kolkata Nivedita Shakti celebrates the 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Swamiji tells us how Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda taught Netaji how to love and worship the country as Divine Mother. Session was ended by singing the National Anthem & all the members stood up to give respect to the national anthem. Then the anchor of the event ended the session.
