The Faculty<\/h3>\n

\n The Institute family believes that combination of a good teacher and a\n good student is the basic and most important aspect of achieving\n academic excellence. It is the strength of our faculty with a heavy\n dose of the lecture from renowned professors of IIT, Kharagpur, and\n IIM Kolkata. \n Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti was born in 1947 in West Bengal. He has\n done his B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from REC, Durgapur (NIT,\n Durgapur). He then went to IIT, Kharagpur to complete his M.Tech in\n Mechanical Engineering. He has done his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering\n from Burdwan University. He has also completed MBA from Missouri\n University, USA.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n He has done research in the field of Machine Tools, Industrial\n Electronics, Aviation, Alternate Fuel and Robotics.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti after doing Mechanical Engineering from\n IIT, Kharagpur, joined Steel Authority of India (SAIL) as Chief and was\n in-charge of Western Region in India for 13 years. (1971 to 1984). Then\n he worked as Vice President of British America Investors Corporation at\n World Trade Centre (BAICORP), New York, USA. (1984 to 1994). After that\n he worked as Director of Institute of Engineering & Management, Salt\n Lake, Kolkata (www.iemcal.com). (1994 to 2011).\n <\/p>\n\n

\n He was also associated with West Bengal Higher Education Council (1997\n to 2006) and worked as a consultant to Chairman of Coal India Limited (2\n years) for marketing of coal (1997-1999) and Vizag Port Trust as a\n consultant (2 years) for material chandelling in Port (2000-2002). At\n present, he is working as Vice Chancellor, University of Engineering\n & Management, Jaipur. (www.iem.edu.in). (since 2011 &\n continuing).\n <\/p>\n\n

\n He is the Recipient of IETE Gold Medal for highest contribution in\n Indian Industrial Electronics that happened during last 10 years (1999).\n He is also the Recipient of Edupreneur award from MHRD in 2013 for\n highest contribution in the field of education.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, the founder of Institute of Engineering\n & Management, Kolkata has been immensely influential in inculcating\n the sense of human values and discipline to make the students of the\n institute respectful to other humans, realize and demonstrate their best\n potential and be winner in life.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, the Vice Chancellor of University of\n Engineering & Management, Jaipur has single-handedly directed the\n students to become a significant, thinking, aware, and creative being to\n train them to live with enthusiasm, direction and with a sense of\n purpose.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n In spite of busy schedules for being the Vice-Chancellor of the\n university, Prof. Chakrabarti willingly takes the pain to encourage the\n students to appreciate rather than to criticize and leaves no\n opportunity for them to drift away and waste their precious time of\n life.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n By virtue of separate special classes being lectured him, the students\n of the university are encouraged to make a habit of doing things now,\n develop an attitude of gratitude, get into continuous education program,\n built positive self-esteem, stay away from negative influences, learn to\n do things that need to be done, start the day with a positive attitude.\n This has an obvious positive effect on the job market where the\n University\u2019s students are at a premium.\n <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n \n \n

\n Prof. Satyajit Chakrabarti did his B.Tech in Computer Science and\n Engineering from the Institute of Engineering & Management, then\n went on to do his Masters in Computer Science from the University of\n British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n While doing his masters, he created the groundwork for\n Industry-University alliance with Nokia and UBC.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Prof. Satyajit Chakrabarti worked as a Project Manager in TELUS in\n Vancouver in Beautiful British Columbia for many years where he was\n instrumental in completing many multi million dollars IT and Telecom\n projects – including the $300 million dollars Project Imagine, $2\n million Wireless Number Portability.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Prof. Satyajit Chakrabarti brings with him a solid foundation in\n academics and industry.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n In India, Prof. Satyajit Chakrabarti co-founded the University of\n Engineering & Management, Jaipur and currently heads the Institute\n of Engineering & Management, Kolkata.
