Students of Mechanical Engineering at IEM, Kolkata by the time of graduation will demonstrate:
PO 1– An ability to apply fundamental knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering related to mechanical engineering and allied fields.
PO 2– Identify, formulate, analyze and provide solutions to the real life mechanical engineering problems.
PO 3– An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs include costing, manufacturability, environmental, societal, ethical, sustainability and other constraints.
PO 4– An ability to design and conduct experiments for thermal, fluid and mechanical systems, as well as to analyze and interpret results.
PO 5– An ability to identify, formulate, and solve well-defined and open-ended mechanical engineering problems and address the day-to-day technological challenges in the industry.
PO 6– An ability to functions as a successful team member on multi-tasking and multi-disciplinary issues.
PO 7– An ability to understand and practice professional and ethical responsibilities.
PO 8 – An ability to communicate, document and present effectively at all stages of product / system design and development with the engineering community and society at large.
