Dear friends,
The rapidly changing face of technology, in today’s world, poses significant challenge to technologists. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is geared up to meet the test by drawing on its student quality and commitment of members of faculty and staff.
We have put in place mechanisms to closely monitor the quality of our teaching learning process. The success of the outcome is in the numerous awards and appreciations our students have garnered in technical meets and competitions all year round. The faculty are committed to research and development activities. Their work is intertwined with participation of students in multifarious projects and research work. The Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) is due to play an ever expanding role in furthering research opportunities in the department. The student chapters of professional bodies, like ISHRAE, IEI, SAE and ASME contribute greatly to the vibrancy of the academic learning environment. The periodic lectures organized by the department, under the initiative “Lecture Series in Mechanical Engineering”, is an important component to the enrichment of the curriculum.
It has been our endeavour to ensure that we better ourselves every semester in our efforts. I look forward to building on the tradition of excellence in the areas of research, teaching and leadership in engineering: qualities that Institute of Engineering & Management is counted upon.
